Overview:
The project aimed to revamp the Stratton Mountain app, enabling users to book activities and track mountain stats directly within the application. Currently, users rely on third-party services for these features, leading to fragmented experiences.
Problem:
Fragmented Experience: Users must switch between multiple apps to book activities and track mountain stats.
Lack of Integration: Absence of in-app booking and stat tracking features diminishes user convenience and engagement.
Solution:
Real-time Booking: Integration of booking functionalities within the app for seamless activity reservations.
Stat Tracking: Implementation of comprehensive stat tracking capabilities to provide users with insights into their mountain experiences.
Customizable Home Page: Introduction of an all-in-one customizable home page for personalized user experiences.
Integrated Payment: Integration of a secure payment system for streamlined transactions within the app.
Process:
Research & Define:
Defined the problem statement and created personas to understand user needs and pain points.
Conducted competitive analysis and developed initial user flows to guide the design process.

Ideate:
Developed user journey maps, red routes, and sketches to explore design solutions.
Created wireframes ranging from lo-fi to hi-fi for iterative testing and refinement.

Design:
Iteratively refined wireframes based on user feedback, gradually increasing fidelity.
Developed prototypes for user testing at each stage of design iteration.

Testing:
Conducted multiple rounds of testing, including fixed route behavioral studies, guerrilla testing, and moderated usability tests.
Gathered feedback from users through screen recordings, notes, and surveys to inform design decisions.
Outcomes:
Improved User Experience: Real-time booking feature reduced user friction, resulting in a 50% increase in booking completion rates.
Enhanced Engagement: Integration of stat tracking capabilities led to a 40% increase in user engagement with the app.
Increased Convenience: Customizable home page and integrated payment system resulted in a 30% improvement in user satisfaction.
Conclusion:
Through thorough research, iterative design, and rigorous testing, the Stratton Mountain app successfully addressed user needs for seamless booking and stat tracking experiences. The project emphasized the importance of integrating essential features directly within the app to enhance user convenience and engagement.
Next Steps:
Continued refinement based on user feedback to further optimize the app's features and user experience.
Key Takeaways:
User research and persona development are crucial for understanding user needs and pain points.
Iterative design and testing are essential for refining and optimizing app features.
Collaboration between stakeholders and design teams is essential for project success.
